BEACH LIFE

No real holiday without going to the beach! Well, this might not be true in all cases, but most of our guests come because of the blue waves. The beaches of Versilia are among the longest stretches of fine sand along the Italian coastline, but just a few miles up north or down south you will find excellent rocks with crystal clear waters for diving and snorkelling as well. For those of you who want to visit us between october and april, we recommend the beautiful thermal baths we have within a stone throw.

SANDY BEACH

The Apollo is located less than 50m from the beach in Viareggio, where you can walk endlessly through the fine sand. Being one of the classical beachside locations of Italy, Viareggio is home to some 100 “bagnos”, well managed baths, where you can lay under your umbrella sippig away on that Martini you just got from the bar. All venues have toilets, playgrounds, bars, warm showers and private dressing cabins; some have even their own swimmimg pools!

SNORKELLING /CLIFFS

For those of you who want to see crystal clear waters and and maybe do some snorkelling and diving, we either recommend the Lerici / Cinque Terre region up north, or the cliffs between Calafuria and Castiglioncello further down south our coastline. Both are within a 25 mile range, and are easily accessible by rentacar.

THERMAL BATHS

It is not common knowledge that Tuscany is home to more than 25, mostly beautiful thermal baths, among which maybe Saturnia ist the most known, a bath where you can take a plunge into the healthy water on several naturally formed terraces, and get a suntan at the same time. Places like Montecattini Terme, Bagni di Lucca or Bagni di Pisa are nearby, and easily be visited on an afternoon.  If you are looking for a special treat, visit Monsummano Terme, where you can swim in thermal water inside a beautiful cave.
